The product is very stylish, in a European way, an is made with quality materials. The finish looks as nice as when I bought it. It's more attractive/sophisticated-looking than the garden variety shower head.
The manufacturer touts the flexibility, durability, and non-kink nature of the hose, and it certainly is as good as they claim. Neither the hose, the mount, nor the head itself have ever leaked. And everything screwed together easily, without needing to really clamp down to get a good seal.
But regardless of which setting we used, we were never satisfied with the output from this shower head. It always has been a bit weak. I pulled it apart again at one point to ensure there was no contamination or clogs, but it was perfectly clean. We thought it simply might be the reality of living with a 2.5 gpm restriction.
We recently needed to replace the shower head in our other bathroom, and I decided to try a well-reviewed $35 Water Pik. While the $35 piece isn't as attractive, it's performance crushes this $50 hansgrohe head. The Water Pik head also has a 2.5 gpm restrictor, but we get plenty of force from it, especially on the high-pressure dial setting. There's so much of a difference that we're finding it now takes less time to shower. We don't spend nearly as much time rinsing with the Water Pik head as we did with the hansgrohe. This is especially true when my wife and our girls are rinsing their longer hair. And considering both shower heads have the same 2.5 gpm restriction, we're thinking this equates to less water use as well. After experiencing the difference, I immediately went out and bought another Water Pik and replaced the hansgrohe.
So though this shower head is attractive and well-made with quality materials, it's performance is disappointing and keeps me from recommending it to others, especially when considering the detrimental impact on water use.
