(More customer reviews)This is a much nicer spout than the crappy brands you get at Menards. It's got some weight to it. Thugh beware if you are replacing an older spout like us you're going from all brass to some plastic parts.
We needed the 1/2" IPT and when this came I almost sent it back, it wasnt super clear how to use it with threaded pipe. The trick is to remove the hex screw, then grab the white nylon insert (the smaller sleeve that fits within the larger nylon sleeve, best way I can describe) and give it a twist and pull. You're working on the inside of the spot, so no real danger of damaging the finish but I suppose the possibility exists if you aren't at all careful.
Then when you find out your pipe out of the wall isn't 2" they require for this, and in many older homes it's not - just go to a store that sells inground sprinkler parts and buy a 30c F -> M 1/2 extension, the black or green plastic kind you cut to length with a hacksaw. WORKED PERFECT! Just wrap it up real nice with teflon tape and you can get exactly the length you need.
