(More customer reviews)I installed this as part of a temporary setup while I remodel another bathroom. I needed to retrofit a tub without a shower and this was the easiest way to go about it. However, a couple bits of information that would have been useful beforehand.
First, the tub spout is a threaded connection. However, the threads are on the wall side of the spout. I had to make a trip to the hardware store to get a new threaded piece of pipe which was no big deal, but would have been nice to know pre-purchase.
Also, something I missed when purchasing this is that the riser connection is centered and back on the tub spout. In my case, the handle on the tub faucet blocked where the riser pipe would have to go. I ended up rigging a couple of 90 degree elbows to move the tub spout over to the side. Not a real problem but be aware if you're planning on a more permanent installation.
Finally, the riser is 1/4" pipe and not the standard 1/2" used for normal shower heads. The shower head that comes with this kit is an extremely cheap plastic unit. It sprays water well enough but if you want to replace the head be prepared to cobble something together.
Overall it's fine for what I'm using it for but I would not recommend this product for a permanent installation.
