The bad - installation: The diagram shows a hose with identical ends, but the actual hose comes with a short hexagonal nut at one end and a longer cylindrical screw 'nut' on the other. Initially I was confused which attached where, but after trial and error I arrived at configuration show on the Amazon page. The problem is that the short hexagonal nut is far too short to cover up all of the threads on the bottom of the bracket. So little of the threads were gripped by the nut when tightly screwed that I double checked the washers to see if there was a thinner one I was supposed to be using (there wasn't). The shower works, there is no leaking, but it looks ugly. I used teflon tape around the threads and now I have to go back and cut the tape off the 2/3 of threads that are showing. Even without the tape, the threads should not show - it looks ugly. For a clean and professional appearance, Ana Bath should provide either a longer nut to cover the threads, or provide less threads on the bracket. It's fine for my personal use, but I'd never put this in a guest shower.
I also installed a Danco 89171 Shut-Off Shower Valve (available here on Amazon and which works beautifully) before the Ana Bath bracket. They are not really compatible. The part of the bracket you screw onto the shower pipe is quite long, longer than the Danco threads available for the connection. I wish the Ana Bath connector here was shorter so they matched up fine. To work around this I wrapped the Danco threads with tape about 4x and inserted the extra washer into the connector.
The bad - use and function: The handle on this shower head is too short to fit comfortably in my hand. If I had tried holding it in a store I never would have bought it. I can manage, but I'm a guy with totally normal guy sized hands and this shower head handle is just too small.
This shower head has 5 sprays, but nothing is marked on the head itself to indicate which is what. There is no documentation either. I did not receive this shower head in any consumer packaging, just the head, hose, bracket, washers, tape, and brief instructions. I think I know which sprays have the OXYGENICS function, but products like this really should explicitly tell you all the functions of what you just bought.
The sprays themselves were so-so. The normal one is the one I'll use most. It feels kind of sharp as the water comes out in needle-fine streams. The OXYGENICS setting was loud, not gentle on the skin, and so narrow I felt I had to go over my body very carefully to rinse all the soap off. The massage setting was just a much narrower and harder hitting jet of water than the normal setting. As a massage setting I thought it failed (the pulsing action was so fast you can see it but not feel it on your skin). There are 2 intermediate settings that blend the massage and OXYGENICS settings with the normal one.
Conclusion - this shower head is just disappointing. It should look nicer after installation and the spray was nothing special. The only impressive thing is the hose, and that's not saying much. I've only had this for a day so cannot speak to longevity. I'll be replacing it sooner rather than later though.
