(More customer reviews)Upon moving into our new house we found out that not all showerheads are created equal. We wished we had taken the showerhead from the old house but it was too late. After attempting to drill out the original showerhead and a brand new one and destroying both, I did some research a came across this style. The EPA regulates shower heads at 2.5 gallons per minute or less to conserve water. (I'd like to ask them exactly how I'm conserving water as I'm standing there twice as long trying to get the soap out of my long thick hair.) Because this shower head is actually made up of two separate heads, you can run both at the same time if you wish to double the output. Thank God for American ingenuity!

Guess what....Not any More, and the walls of the shower have no mildew buildup since I've had it on either! This thing is great, no loss of pressure, easy to install on existing shower head, and it looks nice n' clean too. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants cleaner water and doesn't wanna spend a fortune on whole house filters and the such. Great product.

It was the easiest to instal I've ever experienced. Good variety of spray functions which is a big improvement of our over $100 head from Moen we had for less than a year. It has 3 different spray options, although you can have 2 more by mixxing them each other. I use mainly the normal rain-fall like spray which the company calls saturating spray. The spray head is nice and the hose is metal with the same finish of ther other parts. Looks so consistent.

(More customer reviews)PROS: Showerhead was very easy to install, package includes teflon tape, and the improvement in water quality was instantly apparant. Filter type is almost identicle to filters in showerheads significantly more expensive. Installation instructions were very very clear, with several common troubleshooting remedies included. Appearance is good. Filter is very easy to exchange, cheap to purchase, and present in the head itself, instead of an annoying tank taking up space where you might hang a shower caddy. Good quality, aluminum wrapped hose and connectors. Includes easily removable 'water-saving' pressure regulator for high or low pressure water systems. Massage spray is excellent at high pressure.
CONS: The showerhead sprays water straight out, resulting in a 3 inch column of water that doesn't cover the whole body. If you want a shower that sprays at a wide angle, this one won't. The narrow field of spray is all that kept this showerhead from achieving a five-star review.
MISC: The filter is present in the shower head, which increased the overall weight of the handle to about 1-2 lbs. Handle mounts at the bottom, resulting in a very high overhead shower. All hardware (except pipe joints) is chromed plastic, not solid chrome, which significantly reduces weight, but don't drop the thing, or it's liable to crack just like plastic would. Chromed plastic is very common in showerheads and plumbing appliances.
The above user who had problems with her pressure might want to remove or re-situate her pressure regulator, or inspect her supply pipe for a clog, or contact her landlord or a local plumber to ensure there isn't an overall drop of pressure system-wide. Pressure drops wouldn't be readily apparant in sinks, toilets or other low-pressure water devices. The showerhead itself is only channels for distributing water, and (apart from the one regulator valve) has little to do with the pressure achieved by the system before it.

While this item does indeed save water, it provided me with the most UNsatisfying shower I have ever had. I understand that reducing the flow of the water is the intended goal, but when you have to shower an extra five minutes just to make sure you are completely rinsed sort of defeats the purpose. I have no water pressure problems, so unless I installed the item incorrectly, then the showerhead is completely to blame. One good thing is that it was very easy to install and I was done in less than five minutes.
As an added note, the "pause" function does not stop the water, it merely reduces the flow a little.
There are other showerheads out there that reduce water flow while still providing an adequate or even above-average shower experience. I previously owned an Oxygenics handheld showerhead that puts the Waterpik to shame. I will be returning this item to the store immediately.

(More customer reviews)This is a well made valve that is easily installed, and has the potential to save thousands of gallons of heated water if properly used.
The Danco Shower Head Shut-Off Valve is of all metal construction, with a quarter turn shut-off valve on the side. It is 1/2" I.P.S. as advertised, but what is not mentioned in the product description is that it incorporates a water restrcting reduced internal diameter, presumably for the purpose of saving water. For this reason, we approached the installation with some trepidation, fearing reduced water volume through the spray head. Not to fear, our shower continued to perform just as well as before.
One oddity with the installation is that a rubber gasket was enclosed in the package, but was not mentioned in the instructions. It seemed to fit well in the female upstream end of the valve, so we installed it there- but we're not certain that its use is required. One concern is that installation of this gasket as noted may block the small water bypass orfice used to maintain water temperature when the valve is shut off. We have, however, noted no difficulties with the operation of the unit.
Overall, a fine unit and highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)For several years, we've used Delta handheld shower with Aquasana water filter Then, a few months ago, the Delta broke and it was time for a replacement. We did a thorough research on Amazon and decided to purchase this Waterpik. The design looked good and the handle was very light. Regrettably, there was too much cheap plastic all around. So why the three stars? First, the harsh smell of the new rubber shower hose. How can I enjoy a nice, peaceful shower when I am enveloped in a toxic cloud? After 4 weeks of daily use, the Waterpik hose still smells awful. I replaced the hose with a 72" stainless steel shower hose from local "BDF hardware" (got it?) store. (Item #44053, $19.95) Second, since Day One, the shower head has been leaking. I changed the water setting, but to no avail. As the water flows, you can hear the constant drip.. drip.. drip into the shower floor. This is yet another example of a cheaply made, low-quality foreign product. Waterpik decided to slash U.S. jobs and build the product in China. They got what they paid for. In the future, I will seriously reconsider when purchasing another Waterpik product.
5/30/09 Update:
Well, it's been 9 months since we purchased this Waterpik Handheld Shower. At 5 months, the showerhead got clogged. Switching to another setting didn't help: half of the (filtered) water was streaming down to the shower floor. We then replaced Waterpik showerhead with an identical model, under warranty. Now, that replacement is beginning to clog. In Ukraine we have a saying: "We are not so -rich- to buy -cheap- items!" Well, we got what we paid for.

I wasn't home when the item was delivered so my 61 year old DIY-challenged mother was so sweet that she took the shower out and installed it herself. She did it in minutes with no tools required. The water pressure, flow, and span of stream are perfect. The handheld shower is easy to take on and off for cleaning the shower walls or bathing my daughter. Another plus is how easy it is to change the stream settings. The neck of the head is so flexible, you could angle it however way is convenient for you. This "rain" type shower head has made my shower experience even more pleasant. You won't be disappointed.

I re-ordered this shower again last week for my another showeroom. The same nice quality as before. The good news is that the price is reduced. Everyone should get one.

Alsons 4922PK Shower Arm Diverter, Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)For the last 20 years we have gotten by with the shower diverter that came with the hand-held spray we bought. It is the kind of diverter with a knob on top that you need to pull up to switch from shower to hand held sprayer. As the years went by, our hands grew weaker and the knob harder and harder to pull. Obviously, what we needed was a diverter operated by a lever instead of a pull knob (see Physics 01). I stopped by our local Ace Hardware, Home Depot, and Lowes stores hoping to find an all-metal diverter with a lever. All seemed to be going the way of supermarket shelving algorithms and to be not the least bit interested in helping semi-skilled homeowners solve problems.
I was just a bit hesitant to order the Alsons diverter because one of the nice touches of our current diverter is that it connects to the pipe coming out from the wall with a collar you can use to align the diverter vertically before you snug things up. Needless worry. I screwed the diverter on, used a crescent wrench to tighten it into a vertical position with just a little more than hand-tight force. I knew that if necessary to make "tight" and "vertical" coincide, I could add a layer or two of plumbing tape to adjust the fit. But the "thread gods" were with me and the diverter was snug with the sprayer hose outlet pointing the right way, down. I really shouldn't have worried. The diverter can only leak when I send water into the shower feed pipe instead of the tub and if it did the errant drops would just drop down into the tub.
Tried the shower right away. What an improvement! Switching between shower and hand-held spray required just a bit more force than the rotary selector switches on my electronic gear. Hard to fault the economics: 365 x 2 divided by < $20.00.

It has a pretty good rainfall type shower and it's nice to have the option to switch to a center spray. But, the 'pulsating' massage feature is pretty wimpy. It's not nearly as good as other WaterPik shower heads that I've used. I removed the flow restricter from the shower head and that didn't help much.
The shower head is lightweight plastic with a metal-like coating.
The adjustable extension arm and associated hardware is very good quality chrome plated solid brass. (That's why I gave it 3 stars).
I am now using my old Moen shower head with the WaterPik extension arm.

Works great but needs good shower pressure and volume to really get the most from it. I would also suggest you need a good height to allow the "spread" of the shower to cover you. Its not a "power" but more of a rain type head that create a wider pattern.
